IN AN EMERGENCY CALL 000
Crush Family Violence
seeking assistance during COVID -19
About us
We are a group of Community Development students who discovered a need to provide access to resources and help to students, teachers and extended families on the subject of Family Violence.
It is the Crush Family Violence project’s goal to provide access to valuable resources for those impacted by family violence and who are seeking supports but not knowing where to turn.
Crush Family Violence is also a call for staff and students to do their bit in ending Family Violence. As a community we need to watch over our colleagues and assist them in their struggles.
OUR VISION
The Crush Family Violence team believes that AWARENESS creates a call for ACTION which inevitably will lead to SOCIAL CHANGE.

IN AN EMERGENCY CALL 000
COVID-19
In the past month, of the 7000 calls that have been made to Victoria Police in relation to Family Violence, 14% have been Covid-19 related. In these cases, the perpetrator or victim has intimated that the stress of restrictions has “exacerbated animosity” or has been used as a tool to keep children from a parent. (Davey, 2020)
The Department of Health and Human Services website has up to date information on social distancing and other public health measures implemented in response to COVID-19.
If someone you know is forcing you to go beyond these measures, restricting your movements, or denying access to children, this may be family violence.
